FAQ
Yes, all the finished products are handmade in Hawaii, USA.
The "fancy" leis usually take me about 5 hours to make a single finished lei.
Most of the lei are made of a combination of satin and organza ribbon. I also frequently use iridescent ribbon as well as gold edged or gold lined. Some lei include rattail cord or eyelash yarn.
The thread is a double strand of bonded nylon for strength and durability.
I don't recommend washing the lei. If you plan to wear them often, I would Scotch Guard them. With or without the fabric protector spray, I would spot clean them with a damp soft cloth. If you choose to wash them, only hand wash them in a bowl of soapy water and gently rub (like you're petting a kitten). Do NOT immerse the knot that ties the lei together as this may cause it to come apart. Air dry.
